The Historical Background of CSI Chruch Thottavaram dates back to the year 1983. several members of CSI tradition gathered together for a CSI service conducted by Dhaiva Dhanam Pasterand decided to start a CSI Church. On this day, God Almighty laid the foundation for a blessed congregation with ten dedicated families.
CSI Church of Thottavaram was established during the year 1983 by the initiative of few members from CSI Amaravila. Thottavaram Church who wanted to establish a new Church in Thottavaram Area to service the growing population here.
In 1988 land was bought and the first Church was a thatch roofed small Church. There was no looking back since then, the new Church membership has grown by leaps and bounds. Even though this is a typical village parish it has made a positive impact in the socio-economic life of the area and has made valuable contributions to the life of the larger human community. Since its very inception the church has been a centre of evangelistic activities in the area. The Church celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2008 during the tenure of Bishop Rt.Rev.Glaston.
In 2013 New Chruch Extension project was started. The New Church Building was dedicated on 2019 January 06 by Bishop of South Kerala Diocese - Rt. Rev. A.Dharmaraj Rasalam during the tenure of the Church Presbyter - Rev.Sunil Sai. Currently, more than 130 families are part of the Church.
